CPG Transition Process
ISO 14001:2026
With the changes related to ISO 14001:2015 and the release of the new version ISO 14001:2026, every certified organisation is required to be audited against the revised standard and Certification issued before the withdrawal of ISO 14001:2015 on 30 April 2029.
Below is the process CPG will be following to assist our clients in meeting the deadline for Certification.
31/10/27 All new/initial/recertification audits are to be conducted against ISO 14001:2026 from 31 October 2027.
31/01/29 All clients will need to be audited against, and conform with, ISO 14001:2026 before the 31 January 2029. This will allow sufficient time for any Non Conformances/CARS to be addressed, and the completion of technical review, certification decision and certificate issuance.
Please note:
Expiry Date: Any new/initial recertification audits conducted before 31 October 2027, against ISO 14001:2015, shall have an expiry date of 30 April 2029.
Surveillance or Special Audits:
For transitions conducted as part of surveillance or as special audits will recognise the existing ISO 14001:2015 expiry date.
Timing:
Transition audits can be conducted as part of routine surveillance, as well as recertification or by a special transition audit.
Deadline:
Unfortunately any ISO 14001:2015 certifications still in place on 30 April 2029 will be automatically cancelled in line with the international requirements related to the withdrawal date of ISO 14001:2015. If this happens to your business, you will need to go through the full certification process again.
Additional Time:
Additional time may be required for the transition activities undertaken as part of routine audits depending on the impact the changes have on your environmental system. Please discuss with your local CPG office the costs associated with this.
