NDIS
CPG has a wealth of experience within the Health & Human Services and Disability Sector since 2002. Our auditors
hold relevant qualifications in Auditing Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001:2015/Diploma in QA) as well as the NDIS Auditor Training and are regularly assessed. Many of our auditors have extensive experience working in the industry as Clinicians, Providers, RNs and Board Members. A number have many years’ experience in auditing previous Disability (State and National) standards, and some others with lived experience.NDIS Practice Standards
The NDIS Practice Standards create an important benchmark for Providers to assess their performance, and to demonstrate how they provide high quality and safe supports & services to NDIS Participants. Together with the NDIS Code of Conduct, the NDIS Practice Standards assist NDIS Participants to be aware of what quality service provision they should expect from NDIS Providers. The outcomes of the NDIS Practice Standards are included within the National Disability Insurance Scheme (Provider Registration and Practice Standards) Rules 2018. The National Disability Insurance Scheme (Quality Indicators) Guidelines 2018 list the outcomes of the NDIS Practice Standards and the associated quality indicators NDIS providers can use to demonstrate conformity with the outcomes.
The NDIS Practice Standards consist of a core module and several supplementary modules that apply according to the type of supports and services NDIS providers deliver, and the corporate structure of the organisation.
The Core Modules cover
Division 1 – Rights and Responsibility for Participants
Division 2 – Governance and Operational ManagementDivision 3 – The Provision of Supports
Division 4 – The Support Provision Environment
The Supplementary Modules are, and cover:
Module 1 – High Intensity Daily Personal Activities
Module 2 – Specialist Behaviour Support
Module 2a – Implementing Behaviour Support Plans
Module 3 – Early Childhood Supports
Module 3a – is only applicable for sole traders/partnerships providing Early Childhood Supports and Therapeutic SupportsModule 4 – Specialised Support Co-ordination
Module 5 – Specialist Disability Accommodation
Verification ModuleNDIS Certification Audits:
-Provisional Audits
A Provisional audit is a certification pathway for new NDIS Providers who have not yet started services with NDIS Participants. This is a combination of a stage 1 and stage 2 audit and consists of- an opening meeting,
- a review of your documentation,
- interview with your representative/s and requests for further documentation.
There is usually an additional on-site stage two audit once the provider has commenced delivering services (within 18 months) or earlier as per the Conditions placed by the Commission.
- Certification Audit Pathway
There are two stages in a Certification Audit. This involves both an off-site and on-site audit, generally against NDIS Practice Standards ‘Core Module‘ and any other Supplementary Modules relevant to the NDIS Provider’s services.Stage 1: Desktop Audit - This where the auditor will ask for information and evidence of the self-assessment ie ‘Is the Provider ready for audit’. This usually takes place off-site. The purpose is to ensure that a provider is adequately prepared for a Stage 2 audit.
Stage 2: Onsite Audit - The auditor will look at how you are implementing your policies and procedures against all relevant modules or parts of the NDIS Practice Standards. This might include:
● viewing records
● visiting your sites and:
● interviewing staff and participants (the Provider needs to let participants know they are
automatically enrolled in the audit unless they ‘opt out’)
● doing observationsNote: The Stage 2 onsite audit must takeplace within the 3 months of the completion of the Stage 1 audit.
NDIS Verification auditsThese NDIS Practice Standards apply to NDIS providers who are delivering lower risk/lower complexity supports and services. Verification audits are conducted as a desktop audit/remotely against the Verification Module of the NDIS Provider Registration and Standards (Part 9 of Quality Indicators). There are four Quality Indicators in the Verification Module to demonstrate compliance
i Human Resources Management
ii Incident Management
iii Complaint Management
iv Risk ManagementThe audit review consists of adocument review involving review of your self-assessment and relevant documents to the 4 key areas. In order for your audit to proceed, you are required to provide the auditor with access to your documentation.
